These tools are utilized to lessen the probability of injury to a suspect and/or the officer compared to Firearms. All officers are trained and certified by State of Texas Standards in all weapons or tools carried.

Assistant Chief Abel Cantu
|
 Asst. Chief Abel Cantu is the Patrol Supervisor for the Littlefield Police Department. Asst. Chief Cantu has served this community for 10 years and has been a resident of Littlefield for 28 years. Asst. Chief Cantu holds an Advanced Peace Officer License and is certified as a Special Investigator with 12 years of Law Enforcement experience. Asst. Chief Cantu is also certified as a SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Test) Practicioner, Intoxilizer Operator, and is also certified in the use of Less-Lethal Bean-bag rounds, and Oleoresin Capsium Spray. Asst. Chief Cantu has also attended South Plains College towards a Criminal Justice Degree. |

 Sgt. Pearson has 7 years Law Enforcement experience, and he is the Senior Sergeant in charge of the Patrol Division. He joined the Littlefield Police Department in November of 2004. Sgt. Pearson is certified through TCLEOSE as a Jailer and holds a Basic Peace Officer License. He is also a certified TCLEOSE Instructor. Sgt. Pearson is also certified in the deployment of the Taser, as well as certified in use of Oleoresin Capsium Spray and Less Lethal Bean Bag Rounds. Both Sgt Pearson is certified through the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA.) Sgt. Pearson is an Explorer advisor for the Explorer Program.

Cpl. Elliot King has been in law enforcement for 7 years. Cpl. King joined the Littlefield Police Department in January of 2006. Cpl. King is certified through TCLEOSE as a Jailer, holds a Basic Peace Officer License, and as a Dispatcher. Cpl. King is also certified in the deployment of the Taser, as well as certified in use of Oleoresin Capsium Spray and Less Lethal Bean Bag Rounds.Cpl. King is also certified as a SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Test) Practicioner and Intoxilizer Operator. Cpl. King was born and raised right here in Lamb County.

 Cpl. Garcia currently holds TCLEOSE certification as a Basic Peace Officer, as well as a Jailer. He has been in law enforcement for 5 years. He is trained in use of Oleoresin Capsium Spray, as well as deployment of the Taser. Cpl. Garcia is also trained in the conduction of the SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Test). Cpl. Garcia has been with the department since April 2006, and is a native of Cotton Center, Texas.

Officer Kara Wilson, K9 Officer
|
 Officer Wilson joined the Littlefield Police Department in September of 2005. Officer Wilson has 9years of law enforcement experience. She is trained in the conduction of the SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Test). Officer Wilson is certified in the deployment of the Taser. Officicer Wilson is also the K-9 handler of Joshy.

 Officer Cruz currently holds TCLEOSE certification as a Basic Peace Officer, as well as a Jailer. He has 6 years of law enforcement experience. He is trained in use of Oleoresin Capsium Spray, as well as deployment of the Taser. Officer Cruz is also trained in the conduction of the SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Test). Officer Cruz has been with the department since August 2005, and is a native of Dimmitt, Texas. |

 Officer Reginald Holmes currently holds TCLEOSE certification as a Basic Peace Officer. Holmes has been in law enforcement for 1 year. He is trained in use of Oleoresin Capsium Spray, as well as deployment of the Taser. Officer Holmes has been with the department since November 2006. |

 Officer Carrasco currently holds TCLEOSE certification as a Basic Peace Officer. He has been in law enforcement for 3 years. He is trained in use of Oleoresin Capsium Spray, as well as deployment of the Taser. Officer Carrasco is also trained in the conduction of the SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Test). Officer Carrasco has been with the department since May 2007, and is a native of New Deal, Texas.

 Officer Buddy Holmes has three years of law enforcement experience. He currently holds TCLEOSE certification as a Basic Peace Officer and a Jailer. He is trained in use of Oleoresin Capsium Spray, as well as deployment of the Taser. Officer Holmes is also trained in the conduction of the SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Test). Officer Holmes has been with the department since September 2007.
